Too Hot for Craft

I took this photo around four o’clock this afternoon. It’s the temperature in our living area.

31C (or 88F).

It’s also been nasty and humid today. The official temperature for today from Metservice was 27C, but it’s always hotter in our improperly insulated house that lacks any air conditioning. (Air conditioning is a relatively new addition to New Zealand houses and this house is too old for that. Or underfloor heating. Or modern quality insulation.)

The bottom line, is that it felt much too hot for stitching or sewing or anything like that today.

I did read Dragonsong by Anne McCaffrey though. I wanted something really nice and easy to read and this was perfect. It’s still a lovely story nearly 40 years after it was first published and just right for a hot, summer day.
